How to play & tips
PLAY WITH A PLAN
How to play Punny Charades
Punny Charades stages familiar expressions as illustrated mini performances. Watch what the characters and objects are doing, read both action beats, and choose the phrase that best names the whole scene.
Treat the picture like a performance
The largest object is not automatically the answer. Look at the relationship between everything on stage: who is reacting, what changed, and which detail would be unnecessary in an ordinary scene. Those actions are the actors' clues.
Connect both beats
Each performance includes more than one visual idea. The correct phrase should explain both of them, while a decoy usually matches only the obvious prop. Replay the scene when you need another look before choosing.
Think in familiar phrases
Translate the performance into everyday language. If there is a huge unmentioned problem between two people, for example, ask which familiar expression describes that situation rather than choosing a phrase that merely names the animal or object.
